The other is that there is a bad fuse and the display is not getting power. To get to the fuse box look to the left of the steering wheel and find a small seam or crack along the dash. I'm pretty sure the Transit's speedo and ODO calibrations are locked because our vehicles are primarily ModernFord cars – including popular models like the Focus, Fiesta, Transit, Kuga, Ka, Puma, and Ranger – are filled with lots of sensors that monitor how each system in the car is behaving. The lights on the dashboard display which systems are in use and highlight when one of those systems is not working as it should. TheTransit Custom has fallen foul of the dreaded manufacturer recall only three times in its life. The first was for a left-side seatbelt height adjuster bolt that hadn’t been tightened enough. The second concerned an incorrect positive dual battery cable. The final recall concerned the run-on water pump, which could overheat. Itook out the cluster, fairly basic except I didn't know about the little catch on the connector but sussed it eventually. Had a look at the LCD but couldn't see any signs of any issues. So with a sigh I replaced the cluster, drove to Halfords to get an interior light for my engine management light (LCD display still not working). Heading back JVFTvo.
